This site focuses on business technology use and management. During my career, I've deployed and implemented many technology solutions to improve and simplify business processes. Most solutions worked great (although some had to be tweaked a bit) and I learned many things along the way. In upcoming posts, I'll share my experiences and provide some thoughts on current and future technology use.
Technology has changed tremendously throughout the years. What was "state of the art" a decade ago seems primitive today. One of the most important facts I discovered is that technology solutions have short life-cycles and need to be continually upgraded and replaced. It's true that the only constant is change!
Speaking of old technology, web logs (blogs) have been around for about a decade now. And yes, this is my first blog. Although I've authored several web sites in the past, I've somehow avoided the blog format.
However, as blog usage matured to its current form such as the many news blogs and social networking blogs, I realized blogs are a useful business tool. In fact, I've read that many organizations use blogs to disseminate company information and gather employee feedback. This is an excellent example of technology helping business!
Well, I hope you enjoy my blog and find it useful. In my next post, I'll discuss IT security -- specifically the use of passwords for user authentication. If there are specific topics you'd like to see, please let me know. Your comments are welcome!
